ASL sign for: me

me; I

Like in some cultures, ASL has the same sign for "I" and "me". One knows the difference between them by looking at the structure of a sentence.

Sentence or phrase

Gloss: HER LIFE/\, IX1 TELL-STORY(ix1) ME LISTEN-to.

English equivalent: She told me the story of her life.

Raise eyebrows in topicalization (HER LIFE).

The gloss LISTEN has sign variations thus different meanings in contexts. In this video, it refers to listening with eyes, not ears.
