How to sign "paper" in American Sign Language:
Meaning: A material made from fibers (as of wood or cloth) and in the form of thin sheets or a sheet or piece of such material.
Pronunciation (sign description): Dominant flat hand (handshape), palm down (orientation), in contact with the upside passive palm (location), brushes backward twice away from the passive palm (movement).
ASL Learner Tip: Not to confuse PAPER with SCHOOL.
