Deaf Culture and tidbits
Creative Work of the Deaf
Inspired by Dr. Lauren Simms' metaphor of 'running machine of the -isms' in her vlog with Dr. Roberta Cordano in 2020, Deaf artist Ellie created a visual metaphor.
In Ellie's statement, this image represents a systemic oppression (racism, sexism, homophbia, etc.) that Ellie seeks a term that is as close as the term 'kyriarchy'.
