ASL sign for: Africa

Definition: second largest continent, situated in the Eastern Hemisphere, south of Europe.

Variation: this was commonly used in the earlier days (late 20th century) until the other sign in the shape of the continent emerged in the 1980s or so. Some may still use today. [Video contributed by Emmanuel Sohou, 2018.]
