FUNNY in sign lanuage
Learn how to sign "funny" in American Sign Language.
Meaning: Causing laughter or amusement; humorous.
Pronunciation/articulation: Dominant "13" handshape with palm orientation facing in, stroking downward once or twice (depending on the contexts or grammar) with the tips of the fingers on the nose.
When to use one movement or repeated movement? They are interchangeable in some contexts, and not interchangeable in other contexts.
Usage examples (single movement): "Hey, really funny story, what happened was...".
Usage examples for (double movement): "Oh, you're funny".
Learner tip: Not to confuse this sign with the similar sign but different intonation for FISHY.
