Meaning: Equivalent to the sum of six and five; one more than ten; 11.

ASL learner tip: In both receptive and expressive forms, the ASL number or word eleven can be mistook for one. In receptive mode, watch for the movement of the index finger. In expressive mode, make sure to flick the index finger with the thumb.


When to use a single flick or a double flick in ELEVEN? As a standalone number, double. When counting the numbers from one to beyond 11, single flick.
