Signs for LIFT

Meaning: to raise or move something upward. E.g. "Could you help me lift this table, please?"

Beware: there are uncountable ASL signs for "lift", depending on what objects or verb phrases are. E.g. different ASL signs for:

"She lifted the cigarette (up) to her lips." Use the single-handed classifier handshape "2".

"He lifted his eyes (looked up) from the paper and glared." Use the single-handed classifier handshape "V".
