Signs for TRIPLE

There are two possible signs in American Sign Language. It's a bit difficult to describe when to use them. Watch and learn from Deaf ASL speakers in natural environments. Sometimes, either can be used but not interchangeable in other contexts.

Meaning: three times as much or as many; threefold; having three parts of the same type, or happening three times.

This sign is also for THRICE (archaic English term).

Usage examples (contexts): "this tree is three times taller than that one", "his income is triple". (Disregard the English sentences. Be sure to translate them into ASL).

Related signs: ONCE, TWICE.
