Spring time is a season when earth and other living organisms including plants wake up after a long cold winter. The verb spring also means to jump or bounce up suddenly.

How to sign "spring" in American Sign Language. Use different signs whether you mean to suddenly jump or the season.

Meaning (also springtime): the season after winter and before summer, in which vegetation begins to appear, in the northern hemisphere from March to May and in the southern hemisphere from September to November.

Pronunciation (sign description): Dominant "flat O" hand (handshape) with its palm up (orientation) inside non-dominant loose fist (location) moves upward twice while dominant handshape tranforms into open hand (movement).

Meaning: To move, leap, or jump suddenly. See some possible synonyms: JUMP, LEAP, HOP, BOUND.

ASL has its own grammar and structure in sentences that works differently from English. For plurals, verb inflections, word order, etc., learn grammar in the "ASL Learn" section. For search in the dictionary, use the present-time verbs and base words. If you look for "said", look up the word "say". Likewise, if you look for an adjective word, try the noun or vice versa. E.g. The ASL signs for French and France are the same. If you look for a plural word, use a singular word.
