Inspired by the version of American Deaf poet Clayton Valli (1951-2003)'s Dandelsion (1970s/1980s?), media literary artist Jolanta Lapiak created an experimental video poem Dandelions (circa 2006). She explored the cinematic devices in both video editing and sign language.

In Dandelions, she integrated cinematographic techniques and and signed words since both share the same visual-spatial space.

In her series of videos between 2005 and 2007, she wore black attire including black mask and gloves that represent herself as text as in word rather than image, to emphasize her language as text.
