Here are some useful, quick tips.
Filter word: Enter a keyword in the search box to see a list of available words with the "All" selection. Click on the page number if needed. Click on the blue link to look up the word. For best results, enter a parial word to see variations of the word. E.g. "help" instead of "helping/ed/ful".
Alphabetical letters: It's useful for 1) a single-letter word (such as A, B, etc.) and 2) very short words (e.g. "to", "he", etc.) to narrow down the words and pages in the list.
Pagination: Click the next page to see more words if any.
Don't forget to click "All" back when you search another word that begins with a different letter.
In the "Learn" section, enter a keyword in the filter field and a list of the links will appear below the field. Click on the pagination if needed for more links. Click on the link to see a tutorial or article. The tutorial or article may have links of the related topics or posts at the bottom of the pages.
For the sequential links, you may select the tabs "Beginner" and "Booster" as step-by-step tutorials. Or, browse Baby Signing for categorized topics of language acquisition in sign language.
The built-in-browser playback speed is relatively new. It works only in the latest Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (at least on the PC platforms that I am aware of so far). Download the latest version of your browser if needed.
See the 3-dot menu inside the bottom right corner of the video. Click on it to open the menu.
Click on the Playback Speed and adjust the speed.
The best thing about this feature is that it is available on all videos, using the right Chromium-based browsers.
Some videos, particularly the stories and fables, provide subtitles available for PatronPlus subscribers on this website. The subtitles may be automatically on. But, if you'd like to turn it on or off manually. Here is how:
See the 3-dot menu inside the bottom right corner of the video. Click on it to open the menu.
Click on the Captions or the symbol CC.
Whereever mentioned in the articles/posts on this website, there may be another track for the glosses other than the default English subtitles. Open the three-dot menu in the video, select the Captions and then Glosses.
Notice some capital letters of a word and other transcription symbols found in this site as well as other books, websites, etc.? They are a written representation of the signed sentences. Glossing is not a translation. Become familiar with the transcription symbols.
