Marika Kovacs-Houlihan gave a talk "Deaf ideology" at a TEDx event, "TEDxUWMilwaukee" using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. The video below was posted on November 10, 2015.

Marika is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the American Sign Language Department. In her talk, she discusses how hearing people react to the pathological notions of 'deaf' and how a phonocentric society values speaking and hearing.
